MBBS & BDS Admissions: July 23 Deadline Approaches

The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Tamil Nadu, has announced that the last date for submitting MBBS and BDS applications is July 23, 2026 (5:00 PM).

More than 41,000 applications have already been received.

Eligibility Criteria for MBBS & BDS Admissions

Applicants must satisfy the following requirements:

  • Tamil Nadu domicile (for State Quota)
  • Minimum 17 years of age by December 31, 2026
  • Passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB)
  • Minimum qualifying marks:
    • 50% for General Category
    • 40% for Reserved Categories

  • Counselling conducted by the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Tamil Nadu

15% All India Quota (AIQ)

  • Counselling conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC)

Education Loan Support for Medical Students

To make medical education more affordable, the Tamil Nadu Government has appointed district-level facilitation officers to help students obtain education loans for MBBS and BDS courses.

The initiative aims to ensure that deserving students are not prevented from pursuing medical education due to financial constraints.
